Dean Higbee - Owner /President
Dean founded SouthBranch Nursery Company and our sister company, Quality Land Management, in 1992. Dean is the driving force behind QLM and still maintains a hands-on approach to business today.

Clint Hester – Vice President
Clint has been with SouthBranch Nursery for over 11 years. A Shelbyville native, Clint has a degree in ornamental horticulture and landscape design from UT. His responsibilities include landscape design, consultation and sales for both residential and commercial accounts. Clint has designed 1000s of landscapes across middle Tennessee. Chances are if you see a landscape you like, it’s probably one of Clint’s designs.

Josh Smith - General Manager
Josh started with SouthBranch’s sister company Quality Land Management after transferring from Jackson State Community College to MTSU. Upon graduating (with degrees in industrial organization psychology and foreign language), Josh moved to Spain where he spent a year teaching English as a second language. Before college, he spent 13 years of his life cutting ball fields and properties in West Tennessee, so it only made sense that he would work his way back into the industry. Josh has been back with SouthBranch since 2006.

Herb Lee - Customer Service
Herb is one of the original SouthBranch employees and has been serving our customers for over 16 years. As a child, Herb learned about plants while helping his grandmother in the garden in Lenoir City, Tennessee. He has continued to learn and practice gardening ever since. When it comes to plant knowledge, Herb is the go-to guy for our customers and even our employees.

Dustin Jones - Customer Service
Originally from Chapel Hill, Dustin has been a South Branch Employee since 2008. He really wasn’t sure if he was a fit when he started with the company, but he couldn’t imagine doing anything else now. Much of what he has learned about gardening has come from helping his family from a young age as well as hanging with the rest of the SouthBranch crew. One of his favorite past times is working with bonsai plants.
